Carbon steel barrel maker

Hey SuperCub, laughed at you one neutral feedback. To fudd for that guys I guess lol.

What you trying to build?
LOL .... Read the feedback that fellow has. There is a bit of history there of tire kicking. I get tired of that stuff.

I have a 700 308 in a Brown Precision. I think it identifies as a 358Winchester. Have the loading kit as well. No minds have been made up yet. :)

That sounds like a great woods rifle. - dan

Temp for nitriding is up near 1100 F which may alter metals, much prefer teflon coating at only ~ 350 F and more durable than baked paints

Chrome moly is a type of carbon steel, very popular for gun barrels.the "30" designates the percentage of carbon

As in 0.30%, in case anyone is unsure of that. Good thread as I've looked for such a barrel maker without success until now.

I have one rifle that was TEFLON coated ( NOT gun kote -not Cerakote ) by Corlanes over 30 years ago ! 👍 I don’t know who might do that now a days 🤷🏼‍♂️
My favorite 350 Rem Mag, built on a 98 Mauser, is Teflon coated. I've had that one close to 40 years now. Can't remember who did it now though. - dan
