Hey all, A few months ago my GF and I were visiting the inlaws and my soon to be FIL was telling me he lost or misplaced the clip to his rifle and knowing that I was into guns asked me if I could find him one, so he showed me the rifle and it was nothing I had ever seen before and all he could tell me is it was a 6.5. So I was like a 6.5 what? He didnt know and his last few shells were also misplaced with the clip.
Anyways with some searching I found out that it is a sporterized carcano. I searched some more and bought a couple clips from the EE, all is cool
except I was telling him that nowadays he may never find 6.5x52 ammo again. So tonight we were over for a visit and he had finally found where they had gone to, so he was showing me them and I noticed that the ammo in his old clip is all 6.5x54. Here my question. Is this the proper ammuniton for this rifle? Would it have been rechambered from 6.5x52 at one time?
Is there any danger in using this ammo?
As to the last question, although he probably hasnt hunted with this rifle in 10 years he used it quite alot up until then and it was his wifes grandfathers rifle before that. So obviously it has been used this way for a long time and no problems yet. So I'm guessing no danger?
Thanks in advance for the replies
