So I have this cavalry Carcano that I'm disassembling, with the old style adjustable sights, and I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the push pin that acts against the spring.
See the photos for a better look.
I've taken a punch and hammer to it, and it isn't moving. I don't want to damage anything with too much brute force, so I'm wondering if I should stop or if there's something I haven't considered. I was wondering if the part is threaded possibly, but I can't find a diagram of the sight assembly. Or possibly this end of the rod is expanded like a rivet, it's hard to get an accurate measurement to see if the end is wider than the shaft.
Any insights would be appreciated.
