Carcano (winnipeg gun show)

.
I had attended the McSherry's Auction in Stonewall, MB., the day before, and while there were some head shaking prices realized, there was also some fairly reasonable prices on some items. The Black Powder hunting rifles went low, (in my opinion,) and a lot of the Military stuff was up there where you had to wear an oxygen mask to bid at that level.

So Buffdog, at the risk of pulling this thread OT, what followed you home? I had put some absentee bids in. Most curious about what the Mk III Martini-Henry went for.

Nice Carcano!

I have a little carbine in 7.35. Talk about loud! No wonder the Italians gave up early! Years ago, I bought a brass machinegun charger full of ammo. Haven't fired any of that stuff, as I kind of got the hint that it might be a bit hotter than rifle ammo. I have managed to find some ammo here and there at gun shows. I bought some reloaded ammo that I intend to take apart and load to my own specs.

i bought some of the maching gun ammo from 1923 in the original box with stripper clips, but i think that will be in my ammo collection, i just bought a lee reloading kit so im going to start reloading my own stuff, i have yet to fire this gun, trying to get a tank built, i was thinking about using RLO and heating it, not sure the route im going to go, have sent a few emails out to guys i know that seriously restore these guns, i want to try and get the top hand guard to match, after getting all the dam grease off and stripping all the varnish off of it, my little 100 dollar rifle is starting to have life back, might buy a box or 2 from canada ammo, only 20 bucks a box, we bought 3 at the gun show, and tinman204 was telling me she sure barks good,
