Apologies if this has been reviewed lately - I did a search and did not find anything.

The Wild Rose Action Shooters based in Edmonton are looking for a supplier of cardboard targets. These can be the IPSC "metric" targets, IDPA targets, or something comparable. We don't want to use the current IPSC "classic" targets - we want cardboard targets with heads.

Quantities would be between one and two thousand per year.

We are aware of the Target Barn in the US, but shipping costs are huge.

Norampac in Calgary produce the IPSC classic targets for IPSC Alberta, but given the modest quantities, buying our own die would also be expensive.

Please advise if you are aware of a Canadian supplier.

Thanks very much for your help.

We are probably going to run some "outlaw" IPSC matches as wellsince we still want to use the old style target in which case the IDPA target should work well or we may become a USPSA foriegn affiliate and use the USPSA target. Perhaps an "old school" IPSC league could be formed :)

Lol...well let me see, it's just an idea right now, but if there's enough interest it could be a lot of fun

We can supply IPSC "Metric" Targets.
(Still do to various police and military)

You'd need a minumum order of 1000 for fill a pallet to make it worth your while. Shipping costs from this coast to AB might be prohibitive, though.

Greg three possibilities. first one is i think IDPA Alberta does already own a die. i would get hold of Mike J. and check with him. i believe the die is at norampac.

second one is check with Todd O. as i think IPSC Alberta still has some "metric" targets left but i could be wrong.

brain just kicked in. i know a small supplier in BC that might be able to handle your order as well. drop mean email if you want me to contact him or give you his email.

Sure!! How about a Canadian Single Stack Society!!

Can single stack .40's play too???

as for targets, if your not wanting something specific why not see if there is a local box supplier? A company I used to work for had boxes with fold up packing material custom made for quite cheep. I know you can get a Pfd of the IPSC dimensions.

IDPA Alberta??? Who is that?

Hi Greg
I can't help you with a Canadian supplier. Perhaps I can help with freight charges. EXAMPLE: I can bring in to Edmonton from Toledo, a 1500 lbs skid -dock to dock, for $525.00 CDN.
If interested 1-877-303-5333 - ask for Tom

If you get a chance, look up the Single Stack rules, they can be found in the USPSA rule book which is what we'd have to start with.
Simply, Single Stack 1911's of the original design, meaning 5" bushing guns. Mag capacity is 8 rounds for major (.40/.45) and 10 rounds for minor (9mm/.38 Super) must fit in a box and be no heavier than 43 oz.
Holsters must be good for "everyday use" no race holsters and in the behind the hip bone placement.
Courses of fire are such that you should not need more than three mags to complete (one in the gun and two on the belt) so 24 rounds would be the max, if you look at past Single Stack Championships 14 to 21 rounds is typical.
All other rules as per the USPSA rule book...so USPSA targets can be used :D

Greg i have always presumed that ATHL was IPDA Alberta, but then since i don't shot IPDA what the hell do i know.

What i do know is that the ex-president of ATHL did get the information from me of where we got our IPSC targets from and i was led to understand that he was making "approved" IDPA targets. This would have been 4 or 5 years ago now.

As far as I know the individual in question is no longer licenced to produce IDPA targets
