Wondering about care of a lend lease decal on an Inglis pistol. About 80+ percent intact. Any do's or don't to keep it in good shape.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
All the best,
Mike.
Those decals were'nt just used on the Browning HPs. I've seen them on the No19 radio sets that were furnished to the Russians as lend lease. They also appeared on the Inglis BRENs. I use a tool/accessory box made for a "chore horse" generator to store my Lee Enfield parts stash. It has a nice intact decal on the lid.
I'd love to see that.
I have seen ONE HiPower with the decal intact. Fellow brought it into a gun store years ago. It was in the ORIGINAL BOX! Obviously NEVER fired.

Come to think about it, if your good with woodworking, you should make a nice wooden display case for it. Some nice deep red felt or whatever fabric lining a maple box with brass hardware seem pretty fitting for an Inglis. Would keep it safe, and look good while doing it. If you have a gun room you could mount it on your wall, or if no gun room it might look good on the door of your safe.
