Just returned from a norther Quebec caribou hunt with my brother. Saw thousands of caibou at once making for difficult shooting. Fishing was great as well. Her are a few pictures.

went through Jack Hume Adventures. We were treated like kings from start to finish. Everyone should take a trip up there once in their lifetime. Guides were excellent, food great, hunting and fishing was world class. We were surrounded by thousands of caribou one afternoon

Those are some nice caribou you took, congrats.

What was the name of the guide in the second picture? He looks awfully familiar.

A friend of mine went to northern Quebec a few years ago in November for Caribou. It was stupid cold. He shot two Caribou. Had a fantastic time. He drove out there on various ice roads he said. I'm guessing you flew in?

If the season starts this early, someday I might have to do it this time of the year. I don't think I could hack winter temperatures.

Here's a silly question from a novice. Often I see downed animals with a lot of blood around their nostrils. Is this simply the result of a lung shot? I've never been out hunting - just took the course - and plan to do it sometime - just curious on why I don't see this sometime and see it other times.

I get screwed up on which herd it is. One of the herds is in deep touble and no hunting them right now. That herd is in Labrador and hasn't moved in a couple of years because disease killed many. The two herds used to meet in the fall and travel together, but because of the falling numbers, the herd in Labrador is not moving and they haven't met in years

Wow that's a real scary drop in numbers for the one herd, getting close to a complete wipeout. This will really hurt the local hunters that depend on the caribou for their winter meat supply. Any new Hydro projects up there screwing up the environment?
