I have Carl Gustav 6.5x55 rifle and wasn't able to find any info leading to re-barreling options. I have seen mauser 98 and it looks like an identical action to me. Will mauser's barrel fit to Carl Gustav's action? It doesn't seem like any body makes barrels specifically for this rifle.

22lr, the model 38 is rebarrelled in the same manner as the model 98, but uses a different barrel tenon thread diameter.

Model 98 barrels can be used, but the thread must be turned down to fit the smaller receiver ring thread on the M38.

There is actually a bit more to it, but basically that is the difference.

Barrels are usually not made for any particular action, they are chambered and threaded to fit the action by the end user or his 'smith, some more generic aftermarket barrels are chambered and threaded for certain Mauser actions, but if you order a Hart, Krieger, Douglas, etc. you'll have to have it threaded to fit your action.
