Carry Handle on SKS?

I am trying to make an AR style sks for my first gun. Does anyone know of a way to mate an Ar15 carry handle to a SKS?

I was thinking of using a matador full length scope mount and trying to find a detachable carry handle that can connect to its picatinny rail.

Any ideas?
I don't mean to rain on your parade, il start there. I was in your shoes once, all amp up to buy my first gun and already thinking ahead of how I can modify it.

I have ben true that regreted and learn, you should start with the "KISS"(keep it simple stupid)rule. The sks is a great gun, especially a great starter gun cause it is cheap. It is easily customisable, the only problem is that it will usually just add weight and waist money not improving the weapon system. Case and point, aftermarket tapco detacheble mag, there a pain to load, wen full can only be inserted on an open bolt, takes 3 hands to do a mag change and is twice has slow as using the original metal mag with striper clips. Most polymer stock are cheap, add weight , no utility and are expansive, the tapco andati feel like a water gun and the archangel you need to disasemble it to feild strip.

To me the only viable sks build is a modular chassis with an ar mag adapter for fast mag change, magwedge type top rail to mount optic. The problem with this is your in the $800+ area and your left with a 9+ lbs gun that is not ideal that is 2 pound heavier then a $700 ar and is no were neer as good.

Best bet is to buy your sks with a crate of ammo, a couple stripper clip enjoy yourself and learn what you need and are looking for in a firearm.

do you live in Surrey and drive an 1999 honda civic with a huge spoiler that mechanically breaks down every 2 weeks or so on the middle of the Patullo bridge?

I had a carry handle on mine on a Magwedge rail temporarily until my scope arrived. Used a picatinny AR front sight mounted to a TAPCO handguard which was way too low to be useable. You might be able to mess around with picatinny risers to get the front and rear sights at the same level.

I'd suggest waiting to mod until you see how the ergo's are with your body. Spend the extra cash on ammo to get your skills up. Girls love boys with skills

I know it would explain a lot so I'll let this slip, I was born and raised in surrey. I'm more of a domestic guy though and wouldn't be caught dead in a ricer honda.

Here we go now that's what I'm takkin bout

I scored my ar adapter cheap on the EE and slapped together a functionally tacticool sks for $500 so it doesn't have to be expensive, relatively speaking. Sure, for another couple hundred bucks you can get an ar but non-restricted does have it's privileges. Keep it on the seat next to you when you're driving your ricer honda down king George boulevard case some punks wana front. Better safe than Surrey.
