I am an avid bow hunter for elk in a remote location in bc
. We own a cabin there and are in constant contact with grizzles ,
Cougars and black bears .
After reading the firearms act it states we have the right to Carry
A pistol for the protection agansit animals .
Last year I spent almost 2 months in this remote location .
Carrying a pistol would give me a sense of security and make me feel a little safer .
I believe the law states for protection while we are. Working .

Your thought and comments please

Try it and post results.
I can't remember reading a post where someone had tried, been rejected, then posted about it (with letter); usually it's lot of talk about wanting to apply for one, then they (the posts) fade away.

I even went as far as applying for a prospecting permit years ago, but never followed through with it.

Just get a shorty pump shotgun, most pistols won't help you anyway, especially with Grizz. You don't need a permit for an 8 or 12 inch barrelled 12 guage. Use slugs, I recomend Brenneke if you can find them.
