Carrying a Mare's Leg in a holster

Actually, while it might be handy to carry, I can't think of a more awkward firearm configuration to try to use in a serious defense situation.

My thoughts on this was to actually use a sawed off 12ga with a 80-90 degree pistol grip. From people with first hand accounts 2 shots is all you're likely going to get anyway so you have to make them count. I just figured it was easier to ask about the Mare's leg since people would be more likely to give a respectable answer on carrying this length of firearm on the person rather than in/on a pack.(since there are better options if I wanted something on my pack..)

I'm actually contemplating a baldric and holster with a cross draw as being the most practical. Similar to a broadsword draw if you will, only shorter and more lethal. :p

I recommend the use of a sling with the mare's laig secured against the body with a snap-fastener of some sort.

You can push against the sling to steady the firearm and it's quick to deploy as well as less prone to catching branches if it was against your leg.
