Carrying O/U

Do I love my SxS with external hammers .... !!!

I carry it loaded and action closed .... but hammers not cocked ... and safety off. Bringing the gun up and cocking a hammer is one motion ....

:D

Off topic but gotta ask. Why would a gun with exposed hammers require a safety? I always assumed people just cocked the hammer when they want to shoot.

Older hammer guns don't have safeties but newer ones require them for liability and government regulations.

People from the U.S. don't overthink such matter as we do. And look at their population!

Safety Sally culture is more prevalent in Canuckistan, our gubmint is compelled by an overwhelming obsession to bubble wrap everything to protect us from ourselves because they don’t care about Freedom of choices, they are convinced they know what’s best and can’t help themselves from over regulating EVERYTHING!!

Many modern SxS shotguns with external hammers come nowadays with an extra safety. I purchased mine recently and it has a tang safety.
To be honest ... I could do without ... but I guess somebody decided that modern SxS external hammer shotguns absolutely need safeties to make them "saver" guns .... :-(

The only thing a safety has ever done for me is make me miss a shot when it's unexpectedly on.. Load the thing and point it in a safe direction. Unload to cross obstacles, set the gun down, or any other reason that you aren't directly controlling the firearm.
