When I was in spain I had a custom leather gun belt (cartridge belt ) made for me. It was a little pricey, but I saw one finished and really wanted one.

I can't explain how pleased I am with it,...and am curious if any of you guys use cartridge belts... I usuallu carried them lose in my pocket, but not anymore:D

I use one for my shotgun shells in the layout, and i use a Swedish military ammo belt for the boat - it holds my 28 guage ammo , bird shot and non tox waterfowl shot, and 6.5X55 shells.
I don't wear one when I am still hunting however....

Cartridge belts? Uber cool! I want to get the two long ones to go over each shoulder, just like the Mexican grenadiers.

Where's your pics?!

I have seen some nice thick-leather 12G belts at a local store. They're about $75 a piece but only come in black. I want tan!

Iliek cartridge belts, they look cool. But not so practical for me, so I use a nylon wallet on my belt, made by a BC company "Calde Ridge" which is the best wallet I've found.

I too want to see pics...

well now I'm thinkin' that you guys won't like the pics,..the belt I had made is quite basic...

The belt is straight cuts, soft leather,...

He measured a 7mm-08 bullet for the holders, as this is what I want it for.
It holds the 30/30 bullets fine, but they are a bit short, so only the tip tucks in the bottom

he put a rem 30/06 clip in the pouch and it fit snug...

when he was sewing it he gave me a piece of the thread (twine?) and I could not break it, and had to cut back and fourth quite a bit with my knife to cut it.

I think he has a few templates (or designs) that he follows that are pretty common. He also does do the fancy scrolling with fringes and stuff, but I passed on those.

The leather is really smooth and not stiff at all,... he says he works? it... I know nothing about the prepping of leather..

In Seville there were Gypsies selling leather hats, purses, handbags, etc...

At another place we had a handbag made for my sife (I got the belt, she got the purse:)) This person took almost two weeks to get it finished and did a great job.

I'll put a pic of it later ...

A lot of the leather the Gypsies use is from Morocco..., they had hides and hides and hides...

We were going to head to Morocco for a day and buy a few, but there was an issue with it being " whole " as opposed to crafted... would have been far more expensive than the initial cost,..so we passed.
