Cartridge collectors

I collected old Stevens ammo for their target rifles when I was into that and Ballards.
Did you guys see the ammo on Switzers auction today, Gee the prices on some of that stuff.
I remember yrs ago , John Taylor , some of you would have known him, had a sealed box of henry rimfire ammo -1866, some dipshippp was looking at the box, took his finger nail and opened it just to see what it looked like, almost blood on the floor.

cil bb caps

These little bb caps seem to be hard to find these days. I have found 4 boxes. Still trying to find 6 more to complete the brick. I dont think the outer brick box is that common to find either.

Sticky is a nice start but how do we get a ( Cartridge Collector Thread only ) going to buy, sell, trade old cartridges, powder , primers, primer box's , cartridge box's & or get info on this old stuff .

Evanguy
If I got you right yes . Something like ( Cartridge Collectors ) with buy, sell, trade . cartridges, Primer's , Ammo / Primer Box's, Powder . Anything that is old not made any more.

right so we need to ask for a "sub form" within a EE form for vintage reloading/ammo,

maybe within the antique section of the EE below the
"Exchange of Parts for Antique Firearms, Black powder, and Modern Muzzle loaders
Want to Buy: Antique Firearms, Black powder, and Modern Muzzle loaders"

or maybe a sub form within the section "Exchange of Factory Ammo and Reloading Equipment"

or maybe its own section in the EE all by its self, like

Exchange of Vintage Reloading/Ammo

Cartridge collecting would have nothing to do with reloading . It would be best to have it on it's own . There is

Reloading
bullet making
reloading recipes
Ammo
Vintage cartridge Collectors

Well if you collect vintage brass(packages too), powder cans, bullets(boxes to) or primers(packages aswell), loaded ammo ( or boxes) it would have lots to do with it. We dont want 100 forms with like 5 posts in each

Its should be vintage ammo. That would include vintage reloading stuff to id assume. Basically stuff you collect not actually shoot but goes in the chamber of a gun

I see your not a cartridge collector. Collecting cartridges has nothing to do with reloading. or putting a $ 300.00 cartridge that you just bought in a chamber. The buy & sell on the IAA forum would give you a good idea of what I am talking about.

Yeah your right i dont. I just figgured the section should be open to more then just rounds of factory loaded ammo. Lots of people also collect boxes and other ammo supplies from the ole days.

And i didnt mean you would actually chamber a round lol. I meant the form should include all stuff used to make ammo but not stuff like molds and reloading gear. Just include vintage items that were meant to be put in a chamber at thier time of manufacture ( loaded ammo, powder, primers, bullets, brass and their also include their packaging)

Broaden up the spectrum a little haveing 1 specific thing isnt likley to happen. No EE sections are 1 thing only

But its your idea so ill leave you too it. I was just trying to help

It's not just a cartridge. It should include Vintage cartridges, live or died, Shells ,cases, box's, empty or full, old power cans, old primers/box's . Buy, sell, trade, This could be all under one thread, post what ever it is called. Just like the exchange of Militaria it has the buy & sell in one .

Maybe something like the exchange of Vintage Collector Cartridges & all of the other stuff I mention.

Forgot NO RELOADING stuff dies, press's

I just posted in the Mod forum about this, so perhaps soon. :)

I'm a cartridge collector too!
And air rifle pellet tins too.

I just picked these up last night. The small box is full of the original issue rounds all dated 1943. The Remington box is a bunch of mixed rounds of different manufacture. I didn't open the box at the top left. There were also a bunch of loose rounds in a bag but some were reloads.

This is a good idea. I just picked up two boxed of .22 Long CIL Imperial and I can't find any info at all about the specific boxes. Best I could find is an identical box with an IVI logo instead. Are these collectable?
