Looking for a chamber adapter to let me use, say, .32 ACP in the .30/30 barrel. Does anybody in Canada sell these or, if in the US, is there some bizarre law about exporting them? Thanks.

I have one that uses 32S&W in 303Savage. I was told it would work in 30-30 too but I've never used it period so can't say.
It's nos so can't help with current production.

Google 'mcace' in Anchorage, Alaska. He lists chamber adapters for .32 ACP in 30-30, 308 and 30-06, as well as a pile of others.
Years ago I bought his adapters to shoot 45 Colt and 45-70 in my Martini 577-450s, and they were well made items.
If you e-mail he should tell you if he can still ship here or not.
Also, I seem to remember Del Selins gunsmith in Vernon, BC, posting on here somewhere recently about retailing adapters ??
Regards, DaveF.

I have one to fire .32ACP in a .300WM. It doesn't have any markings so I have no idea who made it.
Issue I have is the thin pistol primer cups get pierced by the rifle firing pin. This really screws up accuracy and throws carbon and junk into my bolt through the firing pin hole.
Rounds that don't get pierced can easily hit 2" @ 25yds. The rounds that get pierced can be thrown as much as 5" @ 25yds. Try a bunch of different kinds of ammo before bringing one in the field to shoot grouse or partridge.
The worst for piercing are Federal. I have some Speer Lawman that puncture 4/5 of the time.
I've been meaning to deepen the primer pockets on some brass and try small rifle primers in them with regular .32ACP load data. I figure worst case scenario I wreck my $30 adapter as the rifle can obviously handle much higher pressure.

Would that not be a bit of a tight squeeze sending a jacketed .312" bullet down a .308" bore? Anybody have any issues with this? Lead should be ok.

Odd, but it's been done for years and I've yet to hear of a problem. SAAMI chamber pressures for a .30/30 are almost twice that for the 32 ACP, so there's a lot of safety margin.

Most .32ACP I have found is .310-.311".
A .311" cup and core bullet will swage down pretty easily. You can resize jacketed factory bullets with a Lee push through sizer without much trouble. Just needs case sizing lube instead of alox.
I've shot .311" hard cast in .308's and .461" in .457" a lot and never had an issue. If it was a solid copper bullet I'd be really careful.
A lot of .32ACP ammo is also TMJ, not FMJ, so they are really just copper plated lead.

Ok, good deal then. Sounds like a real hoot to try!
