Being fairly new to reloading, I thought it might be interesting to look up peoples ideas for storage containers after they have been reloaded. I searched but found nothing. So why not start a thread dedicated to it.

I have been saving some of the factory boxes and trays to help store them. But have resorted to plastic Home Depot deck screw boxes. They seem to hold 3-400 rounds with a nice tight lid. Eventually I will ramp it up and have a lot more stock on hand. Maybe needing an ammo can?

What are you guys using? Post your pictures or ideas.

I use ammo cans. I just put a bag in the ammo can and fill it up with loose rounds
Also use cardboard boxes. Doesn't even matter to me. Protein jug are good too. I store all my ammo with dry packs.
 
Princess auto sells a bunch of different sized ammo cans that are newly made, wait for a sale and stock up.

They have 30cal, 50cal, 50acl fat, 40mm, and one bigger then that.
 
I put 100rds into a Ziploc freezer bag and drop it into a 50 cal ammo can. That way when I head out I just grab a bag or three and go. I already carry too much crap and am too old to be lugging around full 50 cal cans

Hahaha. I would not dream of carrying around a full 50 cal ammo can with loose rounds. I swear a 50 cal can loosely filled with 9mm is at least 60 pounds. Mine are so heavy it feels like the handle might rip off. Strictly used for storage only. When I head out I'll put some in a smaller box

Ditto on the steel ammo cans. They were designed for EXACTLY this purpose. As an added bonus, they stack quite well. I hang a cardboard tag from the end bale showing what ammo type is inside. It sure beats pulling down the pile every time trying to find a particular cartridge for a range day.
 
Well, for the actual loading process, and occasionally for range trips, I use some plastic boxes with dividers. In between loading and the range I empty them into ammo cans.
 
I pick up small toolboxes at yard sales , usually under $1 , then I label them with the caliber , and store ammo in them , the plastic ones are ok but I prefer the old metal ones , much more durable

I use Canadian Tire Maximum 22" toolboxes. Every couple months they go on sale... they are good and sturdy and easy to stack and carry and hold enough for a day at the range.
 
A 50 cal can of 9mm is nowhere near 60 pounds. 25 at the very most.
The only downside to ammo cans, especially from Princess Auto, is the cost. $30 is too much. They are handy things though.
The MTM boxes work well, but so do the factory boxes. Depends on what and how much you're loading.
 
These, I have about a dozen. Keeps my brass in the lots they came in. You don't have rounds smashing together when traveling over rough roads, etc.
