Never done the nail test myself but after years of shooting this exact ammo thru all my x39 rifles iha e yet to see any rust

No, only thing I see damages AR 500 is very high velocity.

Ar500 does well against steel core surplus, so this should be no different, mine have hundreds of rounds of x39 and x54r into them and they are still holding up fine.
