CAS, Getting started

Final decision has been made, I've ordered a Puma M92 .357 20" stainless steel and with the money I've saved I'm well on my way to the "New Vaqueros".
I am counting on being ready to start shooting CAS with the return of the nice weather.
And it looks like I've got a friend interested, he needs to get licensed he used to shoot before the regulation changes he just never bothered since the gun registry got started.
It would be great to eventually start our own CAS club right here in south east NB.:dancingbanana:

To start out, worry about getting the guns required first, clothes second.
You can go to matchs with jeans, and a cowboy hat .
A long sleeve shirt in a pattern or colour that you like will work fine.
Walmart or Value Viliage is your friend.
As one previous poster said, you can wear something different each time you go out if you want.
A bandana scarf would also go well.
google laroche leathers for a nice rig at very good prices.
Many of the guys in our club have laroche rigs.
Once you have guns, and a rig, then look on web sites for nicer cowboy clothes.

Scofield Bob

Well I guess I better introduce myself, Scofield Bob here. I am just getting started into the Cowboy Action shooting and I am in the process of setting up the clubs first shoot for the spring. It is amazing the amount of fellas interested in the sport but not quite sure how to go about getting it off the ground. Another member and I are planning a big event, BBQ, good prises etc.. to try and get the club interested. Should be fun.

I joined SASS last month and hope to get advice from the senior Cowboys here. Kinda feels funny practising with my Colts and Winchesters after practising with my AR.

Well glad to meet youall ....

I already own 3 pairs of cowboy boots, a hat, Levis, and lots of shirts that will do the trick. As far as leather I really like the stuff from G&J leather, they compare nicely on price and they do beautiful stuff. I have and will check Laroche again.
