CAS question

Short Answer NO!

The answer at this point is NO...however you may see it sometime in the future for new shooters...there are a few scary people showing up more and more ever year.

I think if you have your BB that will be accepted when any regs come out. IDPA accepts BB from what I've heard. The one match I saw the stage they were shooting required no movement with loaded firearms. They were drawn from a static position is this common of CAS?

doc25:
You may move with a firearm in your hands, if the stage calls for it, but the firearm must have the hammer down on an empty chamber or spent case, or have the action open.
From the SASS Shooters Handbook, March 2006 edition
If you're interested, have a look at www.sassnet.com for a downloadable version of the latest Shooters Handbook. It covers everything from the firearms and ammo permitted to clothing and categories.

Well I guess it was at one of your matches. It was the last one at EOHC. I realise that you can move but is it common to move with a loaded firearm in your hand? I saw only one scenario while I was there.

From SASS Shooters Handbook March 2006 Edition, Page 56, item 18:
"When changing location during a stage, all firearms being carried must either have the hammer down on an empty chamber or spent case or have the action open."
So it appears a stage could include the requirement to move to another position with a loaded, uncocked firearm as described above, but stages are not often written with such a requirement.
Rifles are staged loaded with the action closed, nothing chambered, hammer down (SASS S.Hbk page 54, item 11), unless the stage calls for loading on the clock, while shotguns are staged unloaded and open.(SASS S.Hbk Page 54 item 12)
Clear as mud??;)
