hi all, looking for advice on the Hornady case activated powder drop, I have a older progressive Hornady press with the powder drop activated by a rod activated by the turret lifting, its a pain mainly because of two things, when loading often I drop powder with no case below, messy and generally a pain, this also becomes a issue if I do not fully advance the handle because a case did not aligne with the sizing die, the other is I get powder aparantly miss the case and fall on the shell plate, only a few flakes but will build up.

with the case opperated drop it will prevent the powder dispensing unless the case is there and hoping stop loose flakes.

when you use one what do you like or possibly dislike and when buying they seem to sell for less than 100 dollars, are these complete and any parts off the old style fit the new?

From this video, it looks like you get the whole assembly with the kit. The description on Hornady's site is pretty vague. Pretty good deal under $100 for the full assembly, seeing that I bought an extra powder die for $23.USD from Midway. I could've spent the extra for a full kit.
