Hi
Any experience on this?, my Dillon powder measure doesn’t drop consistently on long powders, so want to try other powder measure, Redding, Hornady etc, what parts and accessories did you get, btw my press is the 550, thanks

From Dillon website, they sell an adaptor so you can use non Dillon powder measure ,plus you use the 450 powder die,

Even a manual thrower will have difficulty with stick powders. You may have to revert back to throw charges below what you want and trickle up..........or find a more suitable (ball) powder.

Honestly, I've had good luck polishing the funnel, and adding a small vibrator. I put a timer on each powder throw and it is +- .1gr max.

Curious about vibrator, what kind?
For the powder, I switched to Vihtavuori N140 for my 308, for 223 H335 and N133 works well, the only thing about Vihtavuori is not GS have them.

I actually use an aquarium air compressor, about $22.00 at my local fish/pet shop.

I have a Lee powder measure and it’s not consistent either
It’s bad enough that I don’t even use it any more

I am only using them; (I have two Pro-1000 presses) for light target loads for pistol, and am using only HP38, an easy to meter powder that is very flow-able. I am actually very impressed with their Auto-disk and how little variation there is between throws. Coarser powder for rifle; no.

I have an old Redding I use for rifle powder, and it sure "crunches" when you are shearing through rod powders.
