I'm gonna start reloading for my M14.
Got the idea with the small base dies and the 4x use per case.
Thinking about using SGK 165 HPBT.
Any experiences with this bullet?
How can I make sure the bullet stays put - crimping is out as the HPBT does not have one.
Anyone uses the primer sealant for sealing the bullest too? like the military does?

neck annealing was mentioned once... how do I do that and why is it good?
Any other info is welcomed.
Thanks

165 shoot good in 3006, Lee factory crimp die, George and Roy's primer sealant. Annealing will soften the brass in the case and make it last longer, variety of meathods, I hold the case head and heat the neck end with a propane torch, when the neck gets dull orange or the head gets to hot I throw it in a bucket of water.

I anneal like 762Nato except I hold closer to the middle of the case and drop into water when it gets too hot to comfortably hold. I usually have slightly sore (minor burned) thumb and first finger after this routine. Maybe I should hold the case head area and let go sooner???

Here's a useful link on annealing and some dangers to avoid.
