yes. you don't need it but it does speed things up. that being said, it's no trick to run several hundred an hour without it if your orginized. I ran without one for 6 monthes or so then bought one. Works well, and its one less thing to do per cycle, all I do now is top up primers and add the bullet , before when running fast, every now and then you'd forget a case (no big deal, just cycle the empty station) or a bullet (a bit of a pain, remove the case and either set it aside till you forget to feed one in and put it there, or back things up one and put it in being carefull not to double charge on the station before) I feel it was money well spent.
Ordered Case feeder progressive and all bells and whistles...
Update...Price wise it came in at around $1000 for everything.(shipping included). I have a friend in U.S.A that is going to get the free bullets and buy them from me for roughly $200 bucks...so this makes the allin cost around $800 bucks to my door.
Anyone that needs any questions answered talk to Doug. (Ext 206 )at Hornady.
He set me up with everything I would need.
I have everything I need now.
JFYI, if you do order one this is the list of stuff that you NEED that does not come with...
Case feeder wheel for brass size.
Shell plates for your specific calibers
Powder through expanders.
Spare shell plate retention springs($1.50 each)
Bushings for all dies so you set them up ONCE than easy to quick change.
Powder Cop Die or RCBS lock-out die
Pistol rotor for powder measure.
I cannot wait to start cranking out the ammo...not sure if I will ever get up to the rated 650 rounds per hour but 3 or 4 hundred would be just fine...
