Case Hardning solution?

Goodday all,

I find myself in need of getting a piece of mild steel case hardened.

Any ideas as to the best solution for doing this?

Bear in mind, I've got no experience doing this, but I'd like to try a home-shop solution if I can.

I case harden my pistol sears and hammers after they are polished to my satisfaction. I use Kasenit surface hardening compound and get it from across the line from a place called PIEH Tool Company Inc - www.piehtoolco.com. I paid $12.60 for a 1lb can, they have a $20.00 min order policy, get some jewelers rouge while your at it.

yup kasenit is easy to use and SAFE no cyanide and stuff Dixie sell it too down in Texas just make sure the surface is clean and polished
