Made 6 of these.. All shot very well.
Max load was 38.7 gr. These were loaded at 36 gr.
Getting ready to toss them in the tumbler, and I spotted this, what is it telling me?
The other 5 are perfect.
Sorry for the poor photos, just my phone..

can't see your pics, but try weighing all of the cases and see if something jumps out at you...........

Out of curiosity, why cant you see the pictures? Is it a setting on my part? Case is split about 90% around the diameter, half inch over the rim.

Could have been loaded too many times, it was used brass..
Kinda scared the crap out of me.. How do I avoid this?

case head separation from one of two things, being full length sized to much or from being shot in a over-lengthed chamber. all of your brass may be suspect now and you will have to drag a bend paper clip through the inside of the case to see if you can feel any thinning in the case walls.

What caliber? range pick up brass or new and fired in your rifle only?

Loaded and full length resized to many times. Case head separation. You can check with a long nail bent 90 degrees. Run the nail on the inside of the case and try to feel for and unevenness. That's an indicator it will crack soon.

Brass has only gone through this gun, came used with the gun.
Would I be better off neck sizing only now?.
I will look in to the paperclip/nail thing. I'll be honest, this scared me.
Gun came as an inheritance, 220 Swift. I think is was only neck sized before it got to me.
I am new to reloading, I took the old brass and full length resized, thinking I shouldn't have.

when you set up the full lenth sizer die you just want to run the case into it far enough that the bolt will close with no resistance, sometimes that means the die is tight to the shell holder and sometimes it means it is an eighth of an inch above the shell holder.....but yes neck sizing will add to brass life for sure

So I need a die that only deals with the neck now? What is the name I look up?
Neck sizing die?
Wow.. scary looking brass.

The nail, paperclip feeler.. What am I feeling for, irregularities? Does it bulge inside before outside?

Your reloading manuals should have all that info. Based on your responses I would read it again. Not trying to be an ass, just make sure you know what your doing.
