Case Length Question?? .40S&W

Hey Guys,

This is my first time loading for .40 and I just had a question about case length. Where can I find the minimum case lengths in a manual. Max says .850" and trim-to length is .845". the brass I have here is measuring around .840". Can I use this brass?

I just had a look at all my manuals about their case trim lengths and this is what I found

Lyman: .845"
Hornady: .845"
Barnes: .840"

Who do I side with?

As far as I know pistol brass doesn't ever get trimmed....apparently it gets shorter, not longer after shooting it. How it makes sense I'm not sure. As long as the brass is in okay condition you should be good to go with it.

I'm sure others will chime in to say not to worry about trimming your cases. My Modern Reloading has .85 as max but I've never had to trim yet.
