Case lube

I have a couple different lubes, but when doing alot I use Lee.
I put the cases in a large freezer bag with a very small amount of Lee lube and some 99% rubbing alcohol. And shake them up.
It should be almost NOT visible on the case. I stand the cases in the loading block and in a few minutes its dried.
Then I proceed to size.
After sizing I put the cases in a 4 liter jug with hot tap water, dawn soap, a little vinegar. Shake them up til clean then put on bath towel to dry.
 
If you are sizing a few cases, the case lube technique does not matter very much. If you have a bucket or two of brass to size, there is a fast efficient way to lube the cases. I lube 100 or so cases (rifle) at a time. Takes about 30 seconds.

I use Lee case lube. It is a water soluble cream that is easy to clean off.

Dump brass in a plastic pail that has a lid.

Then take a 1" worm of lube and smear it around the top inside wall of the pail.

Put lid on and swirl and shake for 15 seconds. This will lube all the cases and deposit a tiny dab on the case mouth, to lube the expander button.

Thanks Ganderite for that tip, seems to work good! I like the Lee lub but applying it is a pain… that should help!

This right here. Coming out of the plandemic, alcohol is cheap and plentiful. Lanolin is a bit pricey, but one little bottle goes a long way. Most of the pistol sizer dies are carbide, thus no lube required. Rifle sizing is lower volume, so the lanolin mix goes a long way

The only time I've had problems was small base rifle dies, for semi auto feeding. Yes it's a pain to get a stuck case out. Once you do, unlikely you do it again.
 
I use Imperial lube if doing small batches, for large batches in the Dillon 650 i use Canola oil cooking spray. Dump cases in a large freezer bag and give it a couple of shots of spray, comes off nicely in the tumbler.
 
I use RCBS water base case lube...A little goes a long way, does a great job of lubricating and easily wipes clean after sizing.

I've done the same, and often just use the thick lanolin right out of the tube.

Before using a small base die, I run the cases through a standard die first. That way going to the small base die is a smaller step and then they dont get stuck.
 
The guys in the mid-west, they should know, say the Lee stuff is industrial press die lube. They use it from 55 gal barrel drums. That cable pulling lube is likely better stuff !!
