This afternoon I prepped about 300 .223 & 60 .308 with the Lee case cutters, then chamfered & debured. Even with a power drill my thumb & index finger are sore. Any consensus on a case prep center ? Is one brand better than the other ? I would rather buy once cry once.

Are you asking for a case prep center that will chamfer, debur, clean primer pockets etc? Or are you asking for a better Timmer?

I run the Lyman case prep center. It holds 5 tools and works great. For a trimmer I use the Giraud power trimmer. It chamfers and deburs while trimming. It's the best tool on my bench but also very expensive when you are running multiple cutter heads and calibers

If all you're doing is trimming to length, RCBS makes 3-way cutters for their case timmer - trim, debur and chamfer all in one step.

Add a hex head screw and driver bit, and you're coooking with gas...

I had a RCBS case prep center, but after long sessions I found that the vertical 'upside down' tools would give me sore wrists and forearms because I had to turn the case upside down. And there was no trimmer unless you set up a Lee case trimmer to work on one of the stations.

As soon as I saw the Hornady case prep center I knew it was the one...the drill press action of the trimmer works great, and the other tools, being horizontal, work great when the trimming is done. Just pop it out of the trimmer, chamfer, debur, clean the primer pocket and done. Then load the next one in the trimmer... Personally, I'd never go back to the vertical tools. At the start of the lockdown I prepped 1000 30-06 over the course of a day... and I was back working on 308 the next day...

It does come with some shell holders, pilots, brushes, etc. I only had to buy 1 shellholder, put RCBS primer pocket brushes in it. Haven't had to actually trim yet, but, the prep stuff is sooooo nice to use compared to doing by hand. I bought because I had too many oddball items and need one that used shellholders. Too many custom add-ons needed for Wilson or Henderson or Giraud for me, and then a case prep setup of some form on top of that. Hornady one made sense. I didn't like the notion of setting up the Franklin after watching a couple of vids.
