Case Priming - Hand vs Bench Mounted

RCBS hand priming tool here! It's fast and you can feel the primer seat when you do it....and you can do it in front of the tube!

I use the press as a way of saving time as i bell cases on the upstroke and prime on the down stroke on my Rockchucker. I prefer to prime on the Co-ax press but cannot do any other steps at the same time. The only advantage of the hand primers, as I have quite a few options, is i can do it while watching TV. i have Lee handprimer, Rcbs, and Lyman 310 tools for hand priming, but i prefer the press.

I use the Lee Autoprime. Inexpensive & I can "feel" how the primer is seated.

The Forster bench primer is my favorite, much faster than using the press.

The hand primers really bother my thumb joint.

Single stage - hand prime
Progressive - prime on the progressive

For handgun on a progressive press, I use the feeder on the press, otherwise its too slow. But for rifle cartridges I am priming with a Lee hand primer. Its fast and you get a good feel for what its doing. Also, you can sit in front of the TV and prime some cartridges.
