Was looking into case neck reamers for spring/summer projects and was just wondering if anyone makes a reamer that can be installed to be used with the Lyman universal trimmer?

The Lyman has an outside neck turning adapter, I use one, the set up is a bit tricky but they do a nice job.
Wasted a couple brass before I got the set up right.
I do neck ream my 243 cases using the RCBS die and reamer. Picked it up at a gun show for a good price.
The Lyman tool can be used for multiple cartridges as long as you have the pilots, but the neck reaming is cartridge specific.

Was looking to ream out some cut down 308 brass to make 45-08 brass. Doesn't look like I'd be able to do this with my current lyman setup. Find it weird lyman doesn't make reamers for use with their trimmers.

Wilson trimmers will hold cartridge straight enough to ream with precision. Sinclair sells Wilson trimmers, but check the LE Wilson website to be sure reamer that you choose will be right. Problem with Lyman trimmers is too much run out, all the reaming trimming is done in the middle of a sloppy, poorly designed tool. The Wilson trimmer tools are about half the cost of Lyman's bench tool. Problem with Wilson is case holder for specific cartridge group is required. One holder will fit 308 and everything else based on 308 cartridge.

Chin are you referring to the Lyman universal trimmer or their neck turners. I find their trimmer to be just fine and accurate only thing I would love is if the trimming operation performed the inside and outside chamfer in the same step.

I have a cutter for the Lyman universal trimmer. It trims and chamfers inside and out. Before I offer to give it away I better find it. If I can find it and you want it, its yours. The Lyman universal trimmer doesn't cut case case mouths square and in the pursuit of accuracy zero bullet run out is sought. Impossible to achieve zero run out when cartridges aren't trimmed square. CH-4D has a trimmer similar to Wilson and they provide reamers to use in theirs.

Dangit looks like I'll be shelling out some more coin but what else is new.

Chinbullco if you can find that cutter I'd be happy to take it off your hands :dancingbanana: Thank you very much for the generous offer bud. CGN is the cats ass and our members are friggin awesome!

Thanks Andy. Been up and down that thread. Have been interested in this cartridge for a while now but never got around to getting set up to make the brass myself. Just happened upon a Norc on the EE all modded up to shoot 45-08 plus got it with 100 pieces of brass so should be good for a while. Gonna have to set up a mesh tent around myself at the range so as not to lose a single piece of this pricey brass. Can't wait for my new pistol to get here get her loaded up with some good powerful rounds. Wonder if it would overly detrimental to the pistol to fire a couple dozen rounds a week of fullhouse loads. Lately been enjoying something with a nice kick.
