I use a RCBS case prep center to do my brass on and did the mod to use the LEE cutter and case gauges, but they don't make one for the 17FB. I need to buy a trimmer specifically for that one caliber. What is a good trimmer to buy that's not expensive?

I did something similar when i needed a case length gauge for my 204 ruger when they first came out. I used a 22-250 turned down.

I have one here but I did some checking and according to LEE's website their cutter won't do anything smaller than 20cal so it looks like I'm SOL. I was checking out some trimmers online and the Lyman Accu Trimmer looks to be about the best bet.I would check out some gun shows for a used tool like the Forester or similar lathe type of cutter. I see some for cheap just about every show. I have a Forester and just make up pilots as needed, not great if your doing a 1000 223 cases but i can`t see any body loading up that many 17FB cases at once. I`m off to Saskatoon today for a gun show to see what treasures i missed and can do without. Maybe shoot the bull dooky with some friends as well.
I had a similar (but different) problem last year. 7.62X54R brass would not fit into my forester trimmer. The rim was TOO big. I bought a Lymann with a universal chuck, problem solved.
The only reason I brought this up is with the Forester and the Lymann, I hope I never have to buy a third trimmer. So far, so good.

You may want to order from Natchez, i just got back from the Saskatoon gun show and those guys have dollar signs in their eyes. Saw a couple of used trimmers and priced out to lunch. Came home with all my cash except for door entry and a burger for lunch.
