Case Trimmer

yomomma, I too never liked the lee deburring tool. I found something I think is much better. The Lyman outside chamfer tool, and the VLD chamfer reamer. They are so comfortable in the hand.
 
I use the Lyman case express a lot, especially the chamfer tool to open up primer pockets that are tight. Like S&B .357 Brass. Just takes a couple seconds lightly and it takes that square edge off the primer pocket. Makes primer seating a breeze.
 
I started with all Lee trimmers.

They awere fast BUT my beat up sheetmetal worker hands would cramp up and get sore.

So I bought a Hornady that uses she'll holders. I had nothing but trouble keeping the lengths consistent.

Sidelined that and bought a Lyman. I really like the Lyman. It holds everything from 45/90 cases all the way down to 223 remington.

It's very consistent.

I debur and chamfer with the Lyman tool. It's big and fits my big mitts nicely.

I also have a Wilson but I shoot way too many calibers to have it as my go to unit.
 
I use a Giraud; it is expensive, but the labour savings are worth it. If I didn't already have a Giraud and was looking for a lower cost alternative, I would consider a Trim-It II:

-It chucks into a drill or drill press.
-One step trimming/chamfering
-Shell holders for different cases
-Micrometer adjustment

Brownells lists them on their website.
 
If I was only shooting a couple calibers I'd get a Giraud for sure.

My buddy has one and they are super easy and fast.

I load like 20 calibers on a regular basis so I'm kinda stick using the old style bench mount trimmers.
