case trimmer

whats the best case trimmer on the market? ease of measurement ,speed ,ajustability price is no issue

Check out the Sinclair trimmer, Giraud makes a trimmer, there is a new Hornady unit that I'm going to buy. It is a drill press style trimmer on top and then a bunch of case prep tools on the bottom. FS

Gracey. Not something to buy if you only have a few to do, however if you have a large volume.... With the Gracey it takes about 2 seconds for each to be trimmed to length and chamfered inside and out.

+1 on the Lee case length gauge setup. It's quick and simple.

If you have lots of cases to prep, something like a Giraud or Gracey trimmer is the way to go.

I have a Foster and a RCBS manual trimmers, of the two the RCBS is easier to use.

I find I store my brass, and only trim when I have a bunch (200+) to do. Adjustment is pretty easy, bu tnot really worht it for one or two shells.

I almsot bought a RCBS case prep station the other day, but I figgure I better leave something for the christmas list!

I just use the lee stud and cutter. I use it by hand but a lot of people seem to use it with a drill.

I find that after I resize and deprime my brass, the case length gauge part of the trimmer is hard to slide in the case mouth. Maybe it'll loosen up eventually.

I'll throw in a vote for the Lyman universal trimmer. Comes with a bunch of pilots probably so you don't have to buy any. The casing holder fits everything and it works very well. Parts and spare cutters are easily ordered on line from Lyman. Mine is over 20 years old and is still good as new and I changed the original cutter once.

Sinclair/Wilson combo has been the most consistent trimmer I have used.
The collet-type trimmers varied too much between cases for my liking.

Cheers,
