I am in the market for a new case trimmer and curious if anyone has tried products like the "trim it" or "worlds finest trimmer"?

thanks

Have the WFT when I started and it's decent for the price but a might finicky to adjust, I moved up to the Sinclair at Brownells but it's a better product and easy to set up and use

As the old saying goes, buy once cry once. I was hesitant in the past and was happy with my Wilson micro trimmer. Accurate but slow. Now doing more handloading finally got the Giraud power case trimmer. The only negative comment is I should have got it sooner. Trimming is actually enjoyable now.

If you do high volume.. or just hate the performance of the manual trimmers, give the Frankford Arsenal Case Trim and Prep Centre a look. I got mine off Amazon for around $200 delivered. I have done over 3000 5.56 cases so far, and it is exactly the same for each case when I measure.

No screwing around, easy to use, quicker pace than manual trimmer with better results. I used to shoot until the case was stretched past max then turf them.. Now I can have perfect sized cases every time, making reloading much more precise. I could NEVER go back to manual trimming. The only thing that would be better would be a trimming stage on my Dillon 650 :)

The first trimmer I had when I started out ;)a 'few' years ago was a Forester and it served me well. However, when I purchased a 500 S&W, I found the existing cutter head on it was too small. I had a bit of a general equipment upgrade on the go at the time and thought I'd add a new trimmer to the list. A friend of mine, and actually the guy that got me into handguns and reloading had recently purchased a new trimmer.

A Lyman Universal. I tried it out, seemed to work well and thought it would fill my needs nicely, so I purchased the same. No complaints or regrets.

I believe the Giraud to be excellent but I have no direct experience. What I have used is the WFT - yes, a bit finicky to set up but once so set they are great to use.

I've been using a Forster for years and recently got a Frankford Arsenal power trimmer, The power trimmer is alright so far takes a couple of minutes to set up and seems to be consistent, won't be selling my old Forster though.

I like my Lee deluxe quick trim. It trims and inside/outside chamfers in one step and works on primed brass. They even make a power version now for use with a hand drill. For what it cost and how good and fast it is, I wont be upgrading to anything else anytime soon.

I've used a Forster trimmer (the original model) for years. I've never been thrilled by the fact that the cases are held in place by a collet. It seems that there might be a little variation, from case to case, in how far back into the collet the case is held, and this would affect--very slightly--trim lengths. Still, I haven't replaced it. If I did, I'd bite the bullet and move up to an L. E. Wilson trimmer available from Sinclair International. It seems like the Lamborghini (Cadillac no longer qualifies) of hand-operated trimmers.

One addition I picked up a little while ago is the Forster 3-in-1 case mouth trimming and chamfering tool. It slips onto the shaft of the Forster trimmer and (a) trims, (b) inside chamfers, and (c) outside chamfers in one pass, using a pilot of the precise bullet diameter. I like this because I can get a really even chamfering angle on both the outside and inside (more important), with the latter enabling slightly more even seating.

I believe the Giraud to be excellent but I have no direct experience.

Having trimmed literally thousands of .223 brass on a Giraud I can testify that it's a great tool.
Unlike most other trimmers the Giraud trims, chamfer and deburrs all at once.
The units are somewhat spendy, but IMHO you'll forget what you paid when you realize how fast and accurate the Giraud trimmer does the job.

Same here . I have the motorized version and it's great. I can trim a couple of hundred cases of 223 an hour. I also use it for 300 win and 308. Very good investment if you are a high volume shooter

I have a "Trim-It". It works great, but as they say Buyer Beware! The person who sells/distributes these seems to be a great guy. he was very helpful and sent just what I needed. The items were sent from California via UPS. Once it got to the border, UPS contracts a Customs Broker to clear the item through Canada Customs. By the time it arrived at my door, it had a COD Brokerage fee that was almost as much as I paid for the Trim-It itself.

As far as function goes. It is relatively easy to set up, and then it is fast once it is set up. You can exchange the bushings (to allow you to do different calibres) but then you will have to set it up again. It does leave a fine ring around your brass where the bushing rubs, but this is purely cosmetic in nature and does not affect anything.

All in all, it is a good product, but beware of the shipping/brokerage fees if it is shipped UPS.

RCBS case trimmer I got at cabelas is awesome. Came with all the common caliber shell inserts, solid metal design, adjustable to .001", and nice bolt holes to fix to my bench.

I just bought one of these, I like it a lot.
Have already set up "Jig Cases" marked with jiffy marker as Jig use.
Trimmed and set to proper length.

Insert jig case , set stop on trimmer and away we go:p

Same as I do - used the Lyman for years - does the job and not a lot of $$$$$
