case weight variation

Just wondering how much difference in case weight before it affects the load, I am shooting a .204 and my cases weighed from 96.2 gr to 94.5gr ,didn't seem like much to me.

Nothing to worry about IMO, pretty consistant, I have some 204 brass that varies by 8 grains

I have read that around 1% of case weight is a good place to start.

If you have a large quantity and an elecronic scale it is easy to sort it into continers of 0.5 gr increments.

X2 but in most cases with the quantities I usually have, I'll likely separate in two to four weight lots. I just reloaded a quantity of 200 rounds of 300WSM for my son in law and I separated it up in two batches.

When I get new brass for a big game rifle I take the bag of brass, weigh them all on my digital scale and start with the ones in the middle. I find I usually get 8-10 that are outside the 1-2 grain middle range.
