Cases for AR15

I switched to a hard case after a lawyer advised me to err on the side of caution as far as transport regs go.

Also now I don't worry at all now about how I load my gear in my car. I throw my Pelican in the bottom and throw everything on top and don't worry about messing up my rifle.

It is surprising how may coworkers have had their windows broken in a blink of an eye to steal change / tools / sunglasses out of it

No different when i have my camera case in the car....its always chained / cabled to anchor points

Where do you live that cars are routinely broken into? Hell, even in Calgary it is a rare occurrence unless you live in one of the gang ghettos and I got as far away from Calgary as soon as I could. Here I could leave the keys in my truck anywhere in town and nothing would happen to it.

Many have criticized me for securing it in such a fashion because it will not follow the letter of the law. I feel it does however there can be an interpretation that it must not be "easily" broken into and a soft case can be.

You are correct on this one. Crown attorneys have tried many times to establish a minimum standard for 'not easily broken into' and failed. The general upshot is that if it is a gun case and you are using it to carry guns and it is locked with some sort of a locking device then you are complying with our retarded laws.

I bought a Huntshield (Plano) hardcase from CT and love it. Latches came with internal locks so I dont screw with padlocks anymore. I'll buy another when they go on sale again.

Lower Mainland Vancouver ....even in the quiet suburbs where I live cars get broken into at night for pocket change

House break in relatively rare since these crack heads are looking for quick $$

Hardly gang ghetto area ...not much of that in lower mainland ( except for dowtown Hastings St ) since average Vancouver house price is $1.4M and still over $1M in the burbs

According to my RCMP neighbor, most of the thieves come from downtown on Skytrain to the burbs to commit crime

Lol, if you move to the lower mainland, you won't be leaving your keys in your car! We spawn crackheads and thieves out here like Montreal spawns Habs fans, they are everywhere! If you live anywhere in the lower mainland , lock it or lose it!

Damn, that is brutal. I guess this is one of those quality of life advantages people keep telling me the LML has? I'll stick to small town Alberta, thanks.

I went the "cheap route" and went to Amazon. Found a aluminum 4 gun case that opens up into a "W" with both locks and combination locks on it.

Not the best but I paid about ~150$ for it and has worked great for years

You can find better, but it all depends if you throw you gun case around or somewhat take care of it.

www .amazon .ca/Aluminum-Carry-Rifle-Case-Inch/dp/B00JLPLGDA (Take out the spaces)

Just FYI, it comes with the regular "soft foam" that's kind of garbage, so I recommend replacing that (I carry 4 ARs and 2-4 pistols in it... it gets HEAVY)

Buy the hard case of your choice, remove the foam and buy a soft case that fits inside.

Now your guns will survive the roughest handling/abuse but when you get to your destination you just have to carry the soft case.

That sounds f&cking retarded. Why do you guys in Ontario allow ranges to dictate nonsensical rules to their members?

Either ranges are owned by a monopolised business, or are private clubs run by a bunch of opinionated people with the most time/clout resources.
Average Joes freedom is dictated by the grey man.

Try going to the next province east, even worse there.
