Just curious, when loading up .38 +P and .38 +P+ ammuntion do you need to use special casings, or (provided the firearm is capable of handling it), is it possible to simply use .38 special brass with a larger powder charge? I'm thinking in terms of using in a Rossi Puma rated for .357 Mag. Thanks for the help.

38 sp brass

Some 357 revolvers have short cylinders and won't allow some popular cast bullets to be crimped in the crimping groove, because the overall combination is too long. The bullets could be seated deeper, then crimped on the outer ledge. However, the simple method is to use 38 special brass and crimp the bullet in its proper groove. Full power 357 loads are thus loaded into the 38 brass. Does the brass stand up? Hey, I'm still here!
