Cast .45ACP bullet question

I just got 1000 .45 230gr cast bullets, I thought they were .452 but they are .453, It shouldnt harm anything should it?

Make sure that a loaded round will chamber properly, if it does, you should be good to go. I don't know why the maker has used that diameter, if you were closer you could run them through a .452" sizer of mine and you'd be off to the rodeo....Ben

yea it seemed like a strange diameter to me aswell

They wouldn't quite fit flush in my chamber. I think I need to seat them just a tiny bit deeper. I think the bullets were hitting the lands

For what it's worth, I have an old 1911 with a sloppy, wartime bore. I intentionally cast my bullets oversize and size them to .454" to get a good, tight seal. So long as they chamber, they're fine.

For these bullets I have to use my case mouth expander, Every other bullet I'v used has had a nice BB to it so I have gotten away without it until now, I think these might take a little more effort to make than normal, But oh well.

Belling your pistol cases when loading cast boolits is the norm. I bell my case mouths for plated and FMJ as well. Set your crimp die to just remove the belling as the bullets are retained by friction from the case not an actual crimp. IF the boolits feed in your gun the extra thousandths of an inch won't make any difference to how they perform.
