cast bullets in a glock 45

I did not mean for the flames to come out over the issue of polygonal rifling. I shoot thousands of rounds through my 1911 a1 and have about 300
lbs of ingots ready to make another 9000 rounds. The economies are such that once set up I am able to cobble bullets together for about 50$ per thousand. I am just looking for something else that is cool and does not cost much to feed. For me that is 45 acp. Any suggestions?

If you buy an aftermarket barrel with traditional rifling for the Glock, you can shoot as much cast through it as your 1911.

That said, lots of people safely shoot unjacketed boolits through the factory polygonal barrel, but they know what they're doing. They know the hardness of what they've cast and how to check for leading in the barrel. If leading is building up, they change the alloy, velocity, or whatever the hell you boolit casters do to reduce leading (I don't cast so I don't know).

Lots of people have had kaBooms from shooting unjacketed through the factory barrel because they didn't know what they were doing. They didn't check for leading and assumed unjacketed could be treated just like jacketed, which isn't true.

If you're the type of guy who has 300 lbs of lead, makes boolits by the thousands and have one of those BMH (or whatever) hardness meters, you're probably in the first camp. Try your cast bullets in a Glock, check for leading, and alter your recipe as appropriate. Use caution, but it can be done safely.

Also, Glocks don't feed SWC very well. I've never had a problem with any other profiles.
