cast for red hawk 44

hi all Im considering casting for my 44 rev. im presently using all lead from a supplier. I have cast equip.so i need help in buying the proper mold eg. 429421. also what size of lube sizer die ? Im planning on using ww.

I have been using this bullet in all my .44 mag revolvers for over 40 years.... Works great with a variety of powders....
I size them .429 should be cast hard, if using WWs suggest you add 1-2% tin as they don't contain any and you will end up with "spot" hard bullets.

bullet size/ dia should be bigger than the dia of your forcing cones

dia you are looking for is .430-431-or 432

open cylinder and using one unloaded bullet-- put it in the cylinder -- if it slides through it is too small
if you have to push it through with a pencil it is the right size or .001 too small measure it you now know the app size ( a tight fit is what you are looking for )

The advice is mostly correct, with the exception of getting the terminology wrong, and there is no advantage that I know of to having your bullet sized larger than the cylinder throat

I use .430 dia. for 3 different Redhawks. My 7.5 is over 30 years old and the two 5.5" Redhawks my brother purchased last year all work well at that dia.

thanks for the help, another nutter offered a mold which im buying so im almost there need 430 sizer epps has one.
