cast load suggestions for 243 - 50yd target loads

OK - I'm on a cast bullet trip - just loaded-up some in 338 Win Mag.

Do you have a favourite load for your 243 you're willing to share?

I'll be using 85gr RNGC's from Ron's bullets in Ancaster.

I've seen IMR 4198, 4227, and SR4759 listed and have those powders in the powder-magazine to evaluate (plus a few others).

How hard should or do you push them - I'm thinking at or below 2000fps for best results.

Just happen to have the 243 Winchester in my Lyman Cast book. The powders you have are great.
For an 85 grain gas check,

11 grains of 2400 ---1825
19 2400 ---2590 -max

11.5 of 4227 - 1855
20 4227 - 2580 -- max

12.5 of 4759 - 1980
21 of 4759 -- 2650 -- max

13.5 of 4198 -- 1850
23 of 4198 -- 2625 --max

The 2007 Cast Bullet Bench rest world champ. used a Ruger .243 and a 95 gr.cast bullet w/gc , sized to .245" and 17.5grs. IMR 4198 and 1930fps. Production class avg. grp. size 100yds. .423". Production means exactly what it says, factory guns only, no aftermarket anything, scopes O.K.
