I've been casting bullets and slugs for a while now, and have been neglecting my shotgun reloading. As such I've been looking into starting to cast shot (either #4 or OO Buck), and Im wondering what others' experiences in doing so have been.

What are some recommended molds? is it worthwhile? let me know

Mike

Lee has a new 00 buckshot mold ($62.00)

However, I found an eBay seller that sells beautiful molds. All different sizes (00 buck, 000 buck, #1 buck, #4 buck...) Great prices, heard great things. Ordered one myself, waiting on arrival. http://shop.ebay.com/skiesunlimited/m.html

Worthwhile? Definitely, since you're already into loading.

If I remember right these molds don't have a sprue cutter so you will have to nip it off leaving a nub which will leave it un-balanced.

I use a Lee .319 round ball mold. It only does 2 at a time though. $19
I also have the new Lee Buckshot mold (.330-.333") it does 18. $37 (plus $12 handles)

I like them both, and have been making my own buckshot loads with them.

The Sharpshooter molds on eBay that oneone linked to have a pretty good reputation on the Cast Boolits forums.
