On the average, pewter bullets will weigh 1/2 of the same bullet done up in lead, autoloading handguns may not function and to tell you the truth, it is a waste of tin. Mixing it with lead would make more sense and stretch it out over alot more bullets. A much more suitable project for pewter is pouring a pewter nosecap on the fore end of a rifle. Similar to what Remingtons and Sharps used to have, including the new replicas made in the USA, i don't believe the italian guns have poured pewter nosecaps but I could be wrong, the first ones that came over were made of some kind of brass.
