Been using clp on it and sh!t happened. Thinking bout slowin down AND CUSIONING the cycling with lithium grease fer the next 10,000 rds.

thats quite a bit, I read you had a armoers kit and you installed a new one i dont see this happenig too often, i could have been a metal inperfection. Good to hear your ok... Thats what counts
 
Most Army rifles get inspected every year for wear. Civis should do the same when cleaning. Look carefully for cracks and wear and this will prevent these problems.

Gonna get my magnifying goggles out now - but hairlines are very hard to see
 
Nope, I caught quite afew in my inspections with the naked eye. They start as hair lines and slowly grow.
 
no the stuff on engine blocks is uv dye which works better but most people have lighter fluid lying around if you wipe the part it will evaporate off but leave the crack wet for a second.
 
Catastrophe Prevention for a VZ58...

Always make sure you have a spare case or two of ammo laying around. Running out would be a catastrophe! :runaway:
