Caught a Tavor Fever... "Official Tavor Picture Thread"

I went for a 500 lumen surefire scout 600u series, but then again I like to be sure of my shot and im not doing any CQB.

Same I picked up a m600p fury surefire scout light. Add a tape switch and it rocks. I usually go with a thumb switch on the back of the light but I can't here because of rail placement.

For a lot of us these are our go to rifle so they need to be just right. spending a little more for quality can save you a lot of headache in the end

I agree to a point. Im in a headache situation right now with a higher end optic though. I have a Zeiss I paid almost 1k for and its been in the repair depot for 4 months. Im leaving today for an elk hunt which I bought this optic for and it fell apart. A quality optic is nice but the support and service behind it also means alot. Zeiss sucks...not sure about Elcan.

Sorry to get off topic on this epic thread!!!

Cheers!!

Hey Guys as a new Tavor owner are there any things you would recommend me getting? I currently have a Geissele trigger on pre-order and an Aimpoint T1 for the Tavor, but I was wondering is the Elcan Spectre worth getting? Also same question for Tavor Flex and Modular Forearm

If you can afford a specter dr, it is in my opinion the best fit. Its like they were made for each other.

The GHW Flex. In my opinion they are a great add on. Stops gasses from coming under your eyepro and adds a sling qd soket that I use as my rear mount. Get it when you can, but no reason to put off shooting in mean time.

The GHW Razorback. I installed my short rail last night, must say it is a must if you are running any AR height magnified optics. I had trouble getting a proper field of view through my Specter DR prior to getting the rail. Now it settles in at just the right height when I bring the rifle up. Feels natural.

The GHW TMF. Neat idea, but I turned around and sold mine immediately after receiving it because I did not e the way it changed the angle of the fore grip area. I just ordered a Midwest Industries XL keymod handgaurd the same as TV-PressPass'. You can also install a light internally in it as well, and It gives you the ability to do a more traditional AR/American/C-clamp grip. We will see how I like it.

Shoot it a bunch before you start accessorizing! It'll give you a better idea of how you use the rifle and what you might want from it going forward.

Optics are pretty much a given in my book though. Your aimpoint should do you fine at the range. But I'm a sucker for magnification.

This all the way. I meant to get this in there somewhere and got side-tracked.

I love the rifle based on the 60 or so rounds I shot at the range, but the iron sights are just a back up. I am also a sucker for magnification. Hence the question of the Elcan.

Thanks guys for the tips :). Ill look into it some more, but also for the Elcan is it at a good height on its own on the tavor? As I cant use my Aimpoint currently due to the low mount I have on the Aimpoint itself.

I ordered the rails after my first range trip... The Specter DR sits to low for me... YMMV

Same. I ordered them as soon as I could, my elcan sat just low enough that proper cheek weld, field of view, and keeping my ear pro on all at the same time could become a balancing act of pic 2 out of the 3. Now I can have all 3!

My only concern now is that I am adding more height to an already large height over bore ratio. I wonder how far off the ballistics reticle on the Elcan Specter DR is considering it was calibrated for an ordinary AR height over bore. Now I have added another 3/8" or so over the factory Tavor rail.
