Caught a Tavor Fever... "Official Tavor Picture Thread"

Thanks for the info. Looks great and I'm sure it serves a useful purpose. I've seen many the barrel shroud on firearms and I figured this was something different.
Oh, it does... It's a lot quieter and I can run it with plugs. The only downside is "Tavor Face", which the IWI guys had a bit of a chuckle over...

Did you ever try a FLEx swivel to limit the gas blowback?
If only "black cheek" was the extent of the problem, since it's more like "black face" and "black hand". But I digress... Maybe I can get one of those Airsoft gas masks with a skull on it.

Pretty sure you're half correct.

Other than the restricted status the CTAR is a joy to shoot (just a PITA with the initial install).

I was informed that it was your location I was right on, and that the can is in fact real... damn you. Now I am really jeolous.

As far as the Tavor Face, the Flex would definitely stop the Face part, as for the hand, I am sure there is a way to redirect the dirty gases that would come frome the Tavors "Gills"

Strangely enough, though you'd think the "gills" would be a primary culprit they are in fact not. You get a nice 'spray' through the gas block hence the face mask. Apparently epoxying it can eliminate "Tavor eye" though it's not as easy to then disassemble for maintenance. I haven't tried the CQB version (less decibel reduction) but that might help.

So, is it legal for one who has a manufacturers license to put a registered muzzle device on thier non-restricted rifle and go tag coyotes in the praries to test its effectiveness or would putting said device on the rifle suddenly make you a criminal for hunting or plinking away from the range?

My Pride and Joy...

Gen 2 Isreali Tavor with an Elcan SprectreDR 1.5-6x, Timney sear pack and BC Tactical barrel shroud. LOVE this gun.

Wow!

2 Elcan Specter DR 1.5-6x in a row! I have never looked throught the 1.5-6x, and dont really care for the aesthetics of the flared lense well, but I know I love my 1-4x.

Am I the only one with a hardon for legit IWI Tavor SAR-21 mags made by CAA with the window?

I would buy 10 if the were available. Match my 6 CAA A.A. Beowulf Polymer mags.

No, but I'm kind of a dirty Magpul whore. ;)
I like my M3 windowed PMAGs.

Yeah, yeah, we know, Captain PMAG. Haha

Maybe we should pressure NR Mag to bring in 100 or so mags. Seems to be interest enough. Wonder what would the landed and rivited cost would be.

Blaxsun, your rivets would probably just fall out any way since your the "holier than thou" manufacturer... ;)
Damn I am jealous of you.

When you win the rifle, it's surprisingly easy to justify big $$ on optics. And ammo:ar15: Big thanks to the Medicine Hat Rifle and Revolver Club.

Everyone in this thread and everyone who has ever dreamed of owning a Tavor, now hates you. LOL

I've never wanted to fit in with a group as bad as I do with this thread. Lol. Everyone who posted pics in this thread should split the cost of my Tavor, it's all your fault that it's in the mail as we speak
