Caution Is there 1000 bullets ?

So if you haven't recieved anything yet, how do you know that you are 50 short?

He meant he hasn't received the 50 bullets that Cam Pro said they would send him when he contacted them.
He said in his first post that he received the bullets and counted them and found he was short 50.

Yes .I had figured that he had received his order of bullets. I was only wondering if the OP was aware that he could be dealing with bullets that could be cast with questionable alloy? If he received a lot of bullets that are short 50 what are the variations in bullet weight?
Perhaps he had received some that are lets say 7 grn under and some that are 7grn over.If he is loading anywhere close to max that could make a bad day.

It's always a good ideas to measure and weigh a few bullets from every new batch that you buy just to make sure they are what they're supposed to be.

Good morning
I picked a handful & weighed 10 this is what I got tell me what you think
Cam Pro 9MM 115 gn this is what I got 116.1, 116, 116, 115.5, 115.6, 115.9, 115.9 116.3, 116.2, 116.5
Cam Pro 45acp 230 gn 229.1, 228, 229,1, 228.3, 228.9, 228.7, 229.3, 229.5, 229, 229.3
Will this affect the accuracy load to shooting

Then I weighed My Zero Bullets 45acp 230 gn 230, 230,230, 230.2, 230.1 230, 230.1, 230.1, 230.2, 230, 230.1
& the box said 500 there was 500 .
what do you think ??
Which projectile do you use and what is there weight ?

Zeros are jacketed and higher quality so they will have less variance. For pistol rounds 1-2gr isn't going to make a difference in accuracy.

I was a Cam-Pro user for over a year. I received one batch that had poor quality control.
I was offered to ship them back for replacement but I didn't bother to.
I simply sorted and shot them.
I have since switched to Zero brand which are jacketed instead of plated and couldn't be happier.

I have recently purchased 2 boxes of Cam-Pro 147gr 9mm of the same lot number for a bargain basement price I couldn't refuse and they were very close to perfect.
The problem with Cam-Pro is that it's like having a crazy girlfriend. You never know what you're going to get.

Aside from counting them and getting 1000 what happens when you are reloading and get have 50 cases and primers left over because of the short shipment?
It's annoying more than anything but still a pain in the butt.

i don't see how having "left over's" is annoying, just use them next time around. the only thing i could see is if you had intended on loading 1000 rounds for a competition and it was the next day, so you couldn't get anymore.

That, posts are hard to do right on an iPad due it being "smarter" than the user. I usually load in multiples of 100 because that's what the primer trays are. I would be ticked to sit down thinking I had enough bullets only to find I was out by 50.

You pay for 1,000 you expect to get 1,000.

i have shot cam pro for last two seasons - always at least 1000 in a box and have all been great quality and shot fine
i use the 180 .40 and the 158 .38
my buddy uses the 124 9mm and loves em

The last time I bought campro bullets, they only came in a box, and there was no plastic bag. As well as the 115gr 9mm bullets there were a handful of some different shape and caliber bullets in with them.
I just use Zero now.

I've never had a plastic bag in mine either.
I too would find oddball bullets once in a while such as a 158 gr TC .358" in a box of 9mm.

If this thread helps Cam Pro should have Better quality control before shooters had enough and sales go down just my 2cents.

likely the boxes are loaded by weight and by a machine, I would expect a variance of a couple of bullets, but 50 is getting outside the error margins a fair bit. Telling the company and getting a positive response is good for everyone, the company then knows they may need to fine tune their packing machines or procedures. A good response maintains their market goodwill. But keep in mind they may need to cut some corners to maintain their price point.

I have purchased (4) 1,000 piece boxes, (2) 180 grain .40 cal and (2) 124 grain 9mm. I weight sorted the first box of .40s and found that I was short of a full 1,000 pieces. They must load boxes by weight instead of a piece count. I say that because they average weight was over the specified 180 grains each. Not a big deal. You get what you pay for, and for the price that they sell for, I think I'm doing well.
The 9mm box did have a couple of odd shapes in it but once again, the price is right for what I'm getting.
