I bought a box the other day and just drove out in the country and shot a couple of these out of my Model 7000. They are mouse fart quiet. Next time I will try shooting a 2x4 to see how much penetration there is. I think they would be good on pests at close range.:D

I bought some CB shorts from Crappy Tire (they didnt have the longs :() and they have pretty good penetration performance. Penetrated up to page 300 on my old grade 9 science text book, blew through 3 1/2 inch pieces of fiber board and they were also devestating to some scrap pieces of hardwood left over from when i had my floors done.

me I shoot some red squirrel at short range and the CB long pass true, I shoot a crow at 30 yards and it drop at the first shoot . The only bad think whit CB long and short is it's poor accuracy on all of my rifle.

I bought a box of CB Longs a while back. They're really quiet. Unfortunately, the accuracy is simply not good enough for anything I'd try these days. Still have most of that box and no plans to use it anytime soon.

CB longs are designed for short range pest control where noise is a factor-and the accuracy is acceptable within that range and for that purpose. They have reasonable penetration[2'' of a telephone book]You just have to be aware of the tendancy to ricochet and choose your target and backdrop accordingly.

These are all I use on bushytails in my old Cooey, you don't wake up the whole forest with them.

Try the Winchester "short" if your non semi rifle will chamber them, they run just below the sound barrier.
Enjoy!
