CBs out of Norc Backpacker?

I live in the country and shoot out back of the farm i have some neighbors on the road across the filed to my left and when shooting LR you can hear the sound echo off their houses. CB is a little loud out of the short barrel but does not echo.

I shoot CB longs out of my Norinco almost every weekend. On almost every outing, I have my Cooey 75 along too...and I sometimes feed it CBs too. Without a doubt, they're WAY quieter out of a long barrel (almost no sound). I really don't consider them loud of of the 13" barreled Norinco, don't even wear hearing protection when shooting them. So is there a difference? Yes, but I consider CBs really quiet either way.

Noise-wise, how do the CB's compare to sub-sonics? They're like 1/5th of the price. I used to fire short's out of a Cooey 39, and the sub-sonics seem to be almost as quiet, even though I haven't done a side-by-each comparison.

Subsonics are louder than CBs. When I shoot CBs at wood targets (out of a full length barrel) the sound of the bullet impacting is louder than the sound of the round being fired.

Shooting subsonics, there is a "crack" sound. Still not loud enough to make me wear hearing protection when it's a full length barrel, but out of the Norinco, I wear it if I'm target shooting.

For Cbs they are noisy, thru long fat barrels they just go "click",,,,, they may attract attention out of such a short barrel, I have a Norc 13" and I've shot CBs with it. If you have the gun get some CBs, maybe the geography of where your shooting will work in your favor at keeping them quiet. Try asking some one to shoot a few while you stand off at some distance (not in front!! haha) maybe they will just sound like a hammer.
