CC in Canada..what would you carry?

I carried a combat commander in Florida in August. Brutal. The new glocks in 380 are awesome. You have no idea how a large or mid frame pistol print in a hot climate. For some it's not about carry its about doing it with discretion. I'm not walking into Ruths Chris or the Biltmore in Arizona with a huge chunk.

People who have never CCéd have no idea how a little thing like a full size metal 1911 becomes a pain the the side ( literally!) in hot weather or even carrying all day in normal weather.
A short rounded butt semi or revolver in a IWB rig is the best choice and it's even a pain in hot weather.

I'm getting to do this in Ohio, Glock 19, and a couple of IWB holsters. I still need to break them in, the comfort factor is not very good so far, unless you want to print badly.

For riding on my motorcycle, I'm going to try one of those concealed carry shirts from OPA Extreme.

Here are your options. More clothes / less gun. The idea of walking around with a mid or large frame pistol is appealing, until you do it. The pocket pistol market is booming. Carrying that type of firearm is great, but unless you've done retention drills beware of the print you throw.

I'd carry my .45acp 1911 GI. It's the gun I'm most comfortable shooting, I'm a big, tall guy and could conceal it easily in the small of my back or in a shoulder holster, plus its got some punch no doubts there.

Agreed...my first time I thought my Sig 226 would be fine. Could not figure out a way to actually conceal it when the time came...big bump on my waistline that was obvious. My current set-up for when I am down south is a Glock 19 with a Raven Vanguard 2 IWB. Light and easy to carry and with just jeans and a tshirt, has a subtle print...with an untucked button-up shirt it completely disappears. Pocket pistols are all the rage but I can't shoot them worth a damn so I sacrifice a little comfort for peace of mind with the G19.
